Statement on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)

International Journal of Engineering Sciences & Management Research (ISSN 2349-6193)

The International Journal of Engineering Sciences & Management Research recognizes the growing role of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools in research and academic writing. To preserve integrity and transparency, authors must adhere to the following guidelines when using GenAI systems.

1. Permissible Use
GenAI tools may be used to assist with:

  • Grammar correction, language refinement, and formatting.

  • Generating code, simulations, or analytical support when properly validated by the author.

  • Drafting non-substantive text that does not introduce original ideas or claims.

2. Prohibited Use
Authors must not:

  • Use GenAI tools to generate research hypotheses, experimental results, data, or analysis that they cannot independently verify.

  • Present AI-generated content as original scholarly contribution.

  • Use GenAI tools to fabricate citations, data, or references.

3. Disclosure Requirements

  • Any use of GenAI in the preparation of the manuscript must be explicitly acknowledged in a dedicated “Author Disclosure” section.

  • Authors must specify which tools were used and for what purpose.

  • Use of GenAI must not violate ethical or copyright standards.

4. Responsibility and Verification

  • Authors retain full responsibility for the accuracy, validity, and originality of all content in their manuscript, regardless of GenAI assistance.

  • All AI-assisted outputs must be thoroughly reviewed, corrected, and verified by the authors.

5. Reviewer and Editor Use of GenAI

  • Reviewers and editors may use GenAI only for administrative tasks, such as grammar checking or summarizing reviewer comments.

  • GenAI tools must not be used to evaluate manuscript quality, novelty, or scientific contribution.

  • Manuscript content must not be uploaded to external GenAI systems that compromise confidentiality.

6. Ethical Compliance

  • Misuse of GenAI—including unacknowledged use, fabricated content, or violation of confidentiality—will be treated as research misconduct.

  • The journal follows COPE guidelines in evaluating any ethical concerns related to AI use.
